Cary Gitter is a writer who lives in New York. He is a member of the Ensemble Studio Theatre’s Obie Award-winning Youngblood playwrights’ group. His plays have been produced or developed at the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, the Ensemble Studio Theatre, the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival, NYU, T. Schreiber Theatre, the Tank and elsewhere. He has been an O’Neill semifinalist and a Samuel French Short Play Festival finalist, and he received NYU’s John Golden Playwriting Prize. His fiction has appeared in JewishFiction.net, Newtown Literary, and the Jewish Literary Journal. He is a mentor in the PEN Prison Writing Program. He earned a BFA in dramatic writing and an MA in English and American literature from NYU.
