Carol Cabrera is a maker, teacher, and learner. She is a social practice artist and uses mediums like photography, theatre, and music to interact and respond to people, places and events in her community and world. She is a high school Humanities teacher at High Tech High North County, as well as the Drama Club advisor.
Carol holds a degree in theatre and writing from the University of California, San Diego, where she graduated with the Robert Gaffney Scholarship, a recognition for her socially engaged theatre work. She founded Nomads Theatre Company, a student organization dedicated to producing new works by young writers and has also worked as a writer and actor for the Stories of the Sun Café project by Asian Story Theatre.
She is a lifelong learner, constantly seeking new places to be, see and explore.
